Project Description

Two girls ding dong ditching houses in a suburban cul-de-sac, stumble upon a neighborhood secret that alters their world forever.

Desiring a dose of childhood nostalgia, Clu convinces her new friend Kirby to accompany her on a mission to prank a house one suburban afternoon.

Having just moved into the neighborhood and looking to fit in, Kirby follows Clu’s instructions and the mischievous rite of passage known as “ding dong ditch” begins.

Clu approaches the suburban home and rings the doorbell. She looks down as blood drips from her nose, watching each drop stain the ivory handkerchief in her hand. Nervous, she wipes the blood from her face and presses the doorbell a final time.

A premonition flashes before her eyes, setting in motion a chain of events that will challenge the two girls newly found friendship and reveal Clu’s true motivations behind the prank…

Collaboration Story

Matt Maddox was introduced to Sarah Carter by a dear friend as a filmmaker to watch out for. They began following each other on social media, and became acquainted with one another. Matt quickly became one of CMP’s greatest champions, and Sarah was incredibly impressed by his artistry and spirit. He is completely self-taught, and if you check out his work at https://www.mcmaddox.com/ we’re sure you’ll agree, it’s riveting.

After finding inspiration in both his work and his presence, Matt became the first member of the CMP Mentorship Program, designed to support artists to refine their creative process, nurture their ideas and garner recognition. Sarah and Matt began discussing Matt’s upcoming short film, DiNG, and CMP joined the project as producers and mentors. We can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us next.

    WRITER / DIRECTOR

Matt Maddox is a writer and director from Memphis, TN, who picked up a camera with a desire to learn more about the world around him. His filmmaking career first began in front of the camera. As an actor, he embraced empathetic storytelling, becoming obsessed with the inner workings of the human condition. This curiosity eventually led him to a life behind the lens, where he hopes his own stories will help give solace to someone who may feel misunderstood in the world we live in. His films often explore those who live on the fringes of society, interpersonal and philosophical relationships, the subconscious, and the struggles of the human soul and psyche. Through his work, Matt hopes to provide unique narratives that challenge our perspective on how we view the world and those around us.
