Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror!
On Monday, October 28th we celebrated the release of David Lee Fisher’s latest film, NOSFERATU: A Symphony Of Horror, released on AppleTV and Amazon Prime on October 18th. Nosferatu is very close to the CMP family — Sarah Carter stars in the film alongside Doug Jones, who Sarah worked with on Falling Skies for five years.
The Making of ‘In Her Name’ and Music by Ali Helnwein at Petit Ermitage
The only way our stories are told is if we tell them. And the only way to survive and thrive in our purity as artists is if we support each other. We don’t have to wait for permission or to be chosen. We can make and share our life’s work if we cultivate community.
DiNG Approaches Production
It’s stories like DiNG that will continue to change the game in this industry. By bringing visibility into unknown territory and radically expanding the scope of what is exposed to the collective, art will always find new points of impact, perspectives will shift, and new voices will rise and inspire.

On a more personal note…
Like so many artists, I spent the first half of my career being whatever I was hired to be… a character… in someone else’s show. They owned my time, my likeness, my voice, my sleep, and my instincts in exchange for money.

Winning!
As the new year kicks off, I’m still integrating the successes of 2022 and the shifts that came with the company’s expansion. I am reflecting and refining how we intend to grow CMP in relation to the increasing demand for original content and job opportunities for deserving artists. All the while I’m in awe that after five years of producing our first two feature-length films and decades imagining a career as a creator, Cheshire Moon Productions is officially in the game and competing with the year’s top films in festivals.
Nothing About Filmmaking is Independent
To everyone who made our year so special, from the cast, fellow producers, and crews of In Her Name and A Pity, to the juries, audiences, friends, family, and supporters at every festival in which we were featured, to all of you for your continued presence as we move into the uncharted territory of sales and distribution, finding new investors for our next projects, and opening our hearts to the next artists to invest in and collaborate with — thank you. The future ahead is bright.
The Owl
The idea to include the owl as a character in the film came slowly and organically as Sarah, who also played the role of the mother, contemplated how to most effectively weave the mother's spirit into the screenplay. Sarah's own mother had told her a story of being visited by an owl at a terrifying time in her journey. These visitations can create a shift in consciousness connecting us with the inner wisdom we all have to carry us through the various and inevitable transformations we undergo in our lifetime. As soon as the owl was invited into the story it became a powerful presence throughout the shoot. A year after we had completed the production phase, we came together for a day of reshoots including a final scene with the owl, the father's malefic hallucination. After editing that sequence, Kevin (the editor and Sarah's husband), Sarah, and their daughter, Alice, went on an evening hike when Sarah felt the strong and familiar presence of an owl. With Alice on her hip, she turned slowly to find an owl staring at her from the lowest branch on a giant pine.
Upcoming Festivals
The soils at CMP are rich with inspiration after sharing In Her Name at Not Film Fest in Italy. Special thanks to the festival founders Giovanni Labadessa and Alize Latini who wined us, dined us, and uplifted our spirits honoring the cultural importance of independent cinema and innovative storytelling.

t’s taken so much heart, courage, and community to give birth to these first two film babies, A Pity and In Her Name. Thank you again for all the support promoting and cheering us on on social media.
A Time to Celebrate
The night In Her Name premiered at Tribeca, we were invited to an exclusive screening of Before Night Falls introduced by Martin Scorsese and attended by the director Julian Schnabel himself. I realize now that back in the early 2000s his work and that film in particular played a huge part in shaping my vision for Cheshire Moon Productions. I have always been most interested in the life stories of artists, sharing those stories, and supporting art in whatever way possible. I have always been aware that life is art and that art must be protected and valued in so much as life itself is.
World Premiere of In Her Name!
My life and creative experiences have shown me that there’s beauty in delving into the darkness and shining a light on the aspects of humanity that need acceptance. What brings the most value to the teams I work with is my ability to be fully engaged and lead by holding space in a purely feminine way. For me, the most beautiful way to do that is through a maternal lens.
