Magic lives in remembering…

Everything starts with an impulse, a moment, a revelation…

Our technique is to follow whims and allow creative flow to revitalize a sort of reverence for or even partnership with life’s trickery by way of absurdly beautiful art.

Like fairly tales, our work is layered with symbolism and poetry that stimulates alignment with innocence, a primal courage we can all tap into to bring light into dark.

With a sense of humor and play we can soften the edges of the most polarizing and tragic aspects of the human condition.

Our productions invite audiences, players, and investors alike to release convention and open to a journey into the wonder of the human heart.

For the artist, visions can seem impossible to manifest and ideas too far fetched to have any real value. Cheshire Moon Productions is committed to honoring those visions and valuing each and every contributing artist.

We rely on miracles, as every great artist must, while maintaining that respect for the process is what guarantees success.

Artistic mastery is a way of life.

Brave work and massive investments of time and energy make dreams a reality.

Where Cheshire Moon Productions is different than other production companies is that we are not afraid of what it takes to make that kind of investment in the unknown and are upheld to stay the course.

We are practiced and proven in recognizing promise within an artist or an idea, a readiness to open, transform, and lend ourselves to the alchemy of divine talent each project is.

We celebrate misfits, rebels, and outcasts.

Through art, we can all find our way back home to each other.

CMP creates worlds where we can all imagine belonging.

A dream you dream alone is just a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.
— Yoko Ono

The experience of founder and CEO Sarah Carter in regards to directing, acting, writing, producing, music, dance, Buddhism, Jungian story analysis, and her personal and philanthropic healing journeys inform the process of discovering the nature and nurturing of expressive art.

Lead by curiosity and an appreciation for excellence, she sets out to produce with fresh perspective by collaborating with uniquely authentic artists.

Together in an alchemy of spirit CMP creates worlds that emanate the healing power each project holds.

As CEO of Cheshire Moon Productions, Sarah continues to create opportunities for artists to share their gifts, sustain their lives, garner recognition, and attain well-deserved support for the devotion it takes to pursue freedom from all that isn’t love.

Cheshire Moon Productions partners with EmpowerHer, an organization that mentors young people who have lost their mothers.

CEO - Sarah Carter

SARAH CARTER is a writer, director, actor, filmmaker, and CEO of Cheshire Moon Productions. Her success as an actor inspired a quiet pursuit of the director's chair beginning with Judd Apatow and Seth Rogan inviting her into the writer’s room to develop her character on their comedy series Undeclared. Since then, she has shadowed and worked with several top directors, including Spike Lee, Martin Donovan, and Miguel Sapochnik most notably over the course of her 5 year run on Steven Spielberg's Falling Skies.

Her debut feature, In Her Name, premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in June 2022, winning an Audience Award. Along with A Pity, a film she starred in and produced with her husband, writer/director/editor Kevin Barth, In Her Name continues to collect accolades and recognition from international audiences. In Her Name has been selected for Tribeca Releases, a prestigious new platform from the Tribeca Film Festival designed to launch in June 2024. The official wide release of the film will be with Giant Pictures and Drafthouse. You can pre-order the film on Apple TV+ now.

It was writing that helped her begin to draw meaning from the tragedies and miracles that shaped her personal journey in order to more deeply understand the world at large. From the death of her younger brother after a lifelong battle with addiction to the birth of her daughter whilst completing the screenplay for Girl Who Needed A Ride, she hopes to take both the darkness of a painful struggle, as well as the miracle of unconditional love, to encourage others never to give up on life through the beauty and magic of shared story.

Her mission is to exemplify the simple truths that offer hope and freedom amidst the insanity that is our human condition. A piece of art is like a child and requires monumental commitment from the point of conception until it has reached its full potential to live a life of its own. Movies, in particular, are miracles, which can only happen when we commit, surrender to the circumstances, take action, and believe. With equal reverence for innocence and shadow, her work is infused with compassion, forgiveness, and wisdom and is an example of what can come through within the madness of life when the feminine is empowered to lead.
